We have produced the annual Our Year films for Lincolnshire Co-op for a number of years. Each year sees us evolve the visual style to continually engage with their members.
Each year there is a big task in collecting all the information around the hard work completed by the Lincolnshire Co-op’s teams and volunteers. We also ensure we understand any changes around how the film will be used that year along with the demographic. As the organisation is always evolving, we also review any major brand designs changes that would affect the video. We draft the storyboard following a round of initial meetings to confirm the content and start to plan each shoot that needs to take place.
We then begin production. This includes designing graphics for animation, planning the overall style and editing pace.
One big creative challenge is in the way we fit in lots of positive stories. Yet, without the film becoming too frantic. As a result, we use a variety of creative techniques that vary from year to year. These included animation, live action video, stop-motion, photography and graphics.
We created the film with a live audience in mind, as well as ensuring it is engaging enough for use on social media too.
For the live screenings, we work closely with the AV team to ensure the best quality during the presentation. To ensure success on social media, a number of smaller films created around particular areas.
