We’re looking for a Senior or Lead Designer to join our award-winning team.

Working as a crucial part of our Design team you’ll be focusing on projects that make a real difference to our clients. We push boundaries to create brands, websites and marketing materials that are truly impressive whilst also delivering results.

This is a full-time position with a mixture of in-studio and working-from-home. Salary is always dependant on experience, however, we’re looking around £30k – £40k pa.

Our Lincoln studio is commutable from Nottingham, Leicester, Doncaster, south-east of Sheffield and Hull.

About this role

You’ll either be a Senior Designer looking to grow into a Lead position with responsibility for the output of your team, or a Lead looking to join a growing agency and be a key part of that growth. Either way this is a great opportunity for the right person to make a real impact on the way we work and the quality we output.

As well as the leadership prospects that come with this role, you’ll be responsible for time estimating, attending client meetings, overseeing the completion of all design projects at Epix, and working on design projects yourself.

Collaboration is a big part of who we are. You’ll be an important part of the studio and be able to make a real impact, including inputting into the development of the way we work.

Our bigger projects are always strategy-first, so we don’t just dive in and create something pretty. We are insights-focused, which means our projects, particularly for brand and web, go through a rigorous planning stage before we create. This means you’ll be creating work that’s beautiful, and that actually performs.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be highly creative, technically competent and have excellent attention-to-detail.

You’ll have experience in crafting brands, print materials (from leaflets to large-scale exhibition stands) and designing user-experience focused website designs that push the boundaries of design (we don’t use frameworks here at Epix, everything is bespoke).

 

You’ll have

  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and XD
  • The ability to apply your creativity to solve client challenges and appeal to their target audience
  • A solid understanding of User-Experience design principals
  • A knowledge of accessible design
  • Be a strong team player with great communication skills allowing you to work closely with others and nurture and support your team

 

We’re looking for a Senior or Lead Designer with:

  • A portfolio of strong brand, design and website projects
  • 5+ years in an agency working as part of a team of designers
  • The ability to adapt your skills and decision making to meet deadlines
  • A dedication to your craft and an excitement to work with a growing team

Hybrid working

We’re a hybrid business, working an optional Monday and Tuesday at home, and then meeting in the studio Wednesday to Friday. You can take a number of extra work-from-home days for unexpected life admin too!

Wellbeing

Our wellbeing policy means the team can work from home on studio days if they feel well enough to work, but too poorly to come in. We also believe that life and work should be in balance. At Epix if something takes longer than expected, or doesn’t go to plan, we work out why, which means that overtime is very rare!

Extra holiday

We have a number of schemes for extra holiday, including buying extra leave, rewards for being part of our team for longer and we close for the Christmas break!

Career support & training

Each team member sits with a Company Director every three months to review goals and progress, with a longer review every twelve months. We also have a conference and events budget. Roles at Epix have clearly defined progression paths, so you know what to do to drive your career forward.

Social events

The team control a Social Budget, free to use for days/nights out and social events. So far we’ve petted baby chicks, bounced on trampolines, and danced to ABBA – and that was just one event. In another we painted like Bob Ross.

Hippocampus

Each Friday morning at 0900 we have a 30-minute session to invest in our creativity or wellbeing. Try a new craft, practice a technique, or just walk in the morning air – whatever you choose.

We operate a mixed Mac/PC environment so we let you decide which laptop you’d prefer!
