Businesses Encouraged to Love Local
A networking event to top all others is being organised in Lincoln to encourage more companies to do business with each other rather than seeking suppliers from outside the county.
The Great Big Networking Event (GBNE), which is in its second year, aims to bring members of all of the networking groups in the city together under one roof.
Organised by Lincoln Business Club committee members Zoe Easy and Mark Jarvis, the event will be held at The Showroom in Lincoln on 7th March at 5pm.
Zoe, who is in charge of organising the club’s events and also runs website design and video production company Epix Media, explained: “Despite it snowing on the day, last year’s GBNE attracted around 100 businesses from the local area and this year we’re hoping for even more.
“As well an expert speaker, exhibition stands and plenty of networking opportunities there’ll also be a delicious buffet all for just £10 per delegate which we think is excellent value for money.”
Lincoln Business Club, which meets on the last Friday of every month, is a charitable organisation so any profit from the GBNE will go towards local good causes.
At the last meeting on 25th January the club handed over cheques worth a total of £610 to Macmillian Cancer Support, the Nomad Trust and the Stroke Association.
Other networking groups involved in this year’s GBNE event include The Business Club, BNI, Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Angels Bring Business, 4Networking, LN6, WiRE, the Federation of Small Businesses and No Ties Allowed.
Tickets for the GBNE can be bought online at www.lincolnbusinessclub.co.uk. Trade stands cost £95 and include one delegate ticket.
